Our name, Domo, is derived from the Greek word for "house," grounding us in a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship. We carry this foundation forward, inspired by a vision for innovative development across Asheville and Western North Carolina. By bridging the gap between traditional construction excellence and high-value project delivery, we build more than houses; we create the backdrop for a lifetime of memories to be made.
The Domo Story: Meet Reggie Dixon
Domo Construction & Development was established in 2023, but the roots of the business go back much further. Our founder, Reggie Dixon, brings 15 years of comprehensive building and real estate experience to the firm—spanning new construction, residential and commercial renovations, and land development.
Reggie’s journey in the industry began in Eastern North Carolina, where he learned the fundamentals of construction from his grandfather. This early exposure to the trade instilled a deep respect for craftsmanship and the physical process of building.
Beyond the job site, Reggie’s background includes business development across the FinTech sector. During his time working with major international banks to launch deposit and loan products, he gained a high-level understanding of how economic conditions impact the buying power of everyday Americans. This financial insight directly informed his goal for Domo: to build high-end, quality homes in Asheville and across Western North Carolina that offer a custom feel without the custom home price tag.
Meet Melissa Dixon, REALTOR®
Melissa is Domo’s resident “Jill-of-all-trades,” bringing a diverse background in teaching, nonprofit and sales leadership, technology, project management, and real estate. She works alongside the Domo team from well before construction begins through the final sale, helping with administrative operations, social media and marketing, and market research that informs design decisions, pricing, positioning, and listing strategy.
As a local real estate agent, Melissa brings firsthand market insight to each project, helping ensure Domo homes are not only thoughtfully built, but strategically positioned for today’s Asheville buyer. She and her husband make a natural team: he builds the homes, and she brings them to market.
At the heart of Melissa’s work is a love of building relationships, staying organized, and helping turn ideas into finished projects. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, fly fishing, live music, reading, and spending time with her dogs.
